Overview
It goes without saying that sustainability is crucial to the future, and this is something that we at The Comfy Workplace are passionate about.
Working with leading European manufacturer Vepa, we supply furniture made from sustainable materials and clean production methods in a waste-free factory, where all residual material is either reused or recycled. Conventional, more harmful materials are being replaced by sustainable or recycled alternatives, such as hemp and roadside grass, plastic bottles, etc.
Vepa follow reduce, reuse and recycle methodology and are continuously developing sustainable products and materials while ensuring there is no compromise on quality, comfort or aesthetics.

Spotlight on HEMP
Spotlight on HEMP – the most sustainable ‘carbon negative’ chair ever!
The chair has an incredibly strong shell made from a unique biomaterial comprised of waste fibres from hemp processing combined with a bio-resin. With a negative carbon footprint and the ability to be remade into another chair at the end of its life.
Hemp is a unique chair, the strong shell is created with Hemp waste fibres, which when bound together with a totally organic glue results in a product which contains no harmful chemicals and has a negative CO2 footprint, as more carbon dioxide is absorbed by the plant during growth than is emitted during production.
After harvesting, the fibres are removed from the hemp and processed to produce a thick, natural brown mat, which is the raw material for the shell. This is combined with a totally organic binding agent before the mat is pressed into the shape of the chair. However, although biodegradable, what makes this chair truly unique is that the material can be shredded and pressed again to make a new chair, without adding chemicals or other substances! This process can be repeated and repeated too.
